ones to watch

Marko Grilc

Snowboarding since the age of seven, Slovenian Marko Grilc won his first junior World Championship in 1998. Having been part of the Burton snowboard team for over 10 years, Marko competes all over the world and consistently gains titles. After winning the 2009 6Star Billabong Air & Style and taking the Relentless Energy Drink Freeze title last year, we are honoured to see him returning once again to defend his title.

Seppe Smits

Seppe Smits is a Belgian snowboarder who has specialised primarily in big air, half-pipe and slope style. After a string of successes including first and third places at the World Championships 2011 in Spain, and taking the 6 Star Bollabong Air & Style title, Smits took third place in last year's Snowboarding FIS World Cup at Freeze. We can't wait for his return this year!

Jamie Nicholls

At only sixteen, Jamie has accomplished more than most would hope for in a lifetime. After his first competition in 2002 his career has taken off, winning four gold medals at the Orange British Championships in Laax and winning the overall men's category at the 2009 British freeski and snowboard championships. As a born-and-bred British snowboarder we welcome him to the competition once again and are keeping an eye on his bright future.

Snowboard FIS World Cup

The highlight of Relentless Energy Drink Freeze Festival, The LG Big Air World Cup will see the World’s best snowboarders compete to win vital ratings points in their quest to be World Champions and in the process take home the largest share of the event prize purse.

About the Big Air Jump

Relentless Energy Drink freeze is centred around the bespoke 32 m kicker created especially for Freeze. Never has London witnessed a jusp of this proportion. Some facts about the jump:

32m high

the equivalent of 8 double decker busses stacked on top of each other.

100m long

It would take Linford Christie 10 seconds to run the length of the jump!

500 tonnes of real snow

is created over the two days. Snow is created by blowing water at high speeds through liquid nitrogen
